When you consider what to post on social media for your business, it is to remember that you are using social media to make sales. Yes, you want to build a community post around your offering, but ultimately, it’s about the bottom line.
It is vital that you post at least one post per week. and to be consistent. Consistency is the key to being noticed.
Direct posts
These posts make a direct request. They could be for a sale, or to click on a link (to go to your lead magnet), or sign up for something. The focus is on the ‘Call to Action’ (CTA). It is obvious that you are asking for something directly.
Indirect posts
These posts nurture your community. If there is a CTA, it is much more subtle and so much less obvious. Your focus it to provide value that grows the ‘know, like, and trust’ factor. Consider:
- Tips and tricks that would be useful for your audience
- Insights into your niche
- Personal snippets of your life
- Your stories or those you have worked with
Video is vital
We hear all the time that social media platforms love video. And today we need a lot less equipment to record something (we simply need a mobile phone). And the power of going ‘live’ is immense.
Most of the social media platforms encourage the use of video: Facebook (and Stories), Instagram Reels, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and LinkedIn. Even if they don’t have the capacity for live video, it is still easy to either upload videos or provide a link to where you have your videos hosted.
Most importantly, when you consider what to post on social media, have fun! Make your business human and enjoy engaging with your community.
