LinkedIn is an important platform if you have a product or service for other businesses (B2B).  If not, get started on LinkedIn to show your expertise.

If you haven’t used LinkedIn for a while, or you have just signed up, the best way is to commit to posting for 14 days straight. This will help you take action to grow your confidence on the platform, and the algorithms will love you.  You will notice your posts will be put in front of a lot more people, so you will see the benefit in your engagement and your reach.

The main focus is on providing value to your audience and showing how amazing you are at what you do. And you want to make it easy for others to see that too.

Step One

Decide how often in a week you want to post on LinkedIn. You may want to post every day, or maybe just twice per week.  Either is absolutely fine.

Step Two

Decide how much time you would like to give the platform.  This needs to include time to craft your post and artwork as well as engage with other content on the platform.

Step Three

Craft your posts with inspiration and insight. And make sure you spend some time engaging with other content in your feed.

Step Four

Remember: do not make LinkedIn a chore, but an energetic environment where you get to chat with people who are going to elevate you. And it is a space where you can make a difference, so HAVE FUN!

Think about:

  • Why does someone need you?
  • What is the one thing you want to be known for?
  • What problem do you solve?

Create content for your current and potential customers, and their needs.

Content will always win in the long run!

Your Goal

Your goal on LinkedIn is to show yourself as an expert in your field. Every post needs to highlight your expertise, experience, knowledge, and passion for the work you do.

Be conscious about your posting and make sure your content is not just a broadcast, but a valuable piece of content that others will want to engage with and maybe even share with their own communities.

Who is your ideal customer?

Create ONE person you want to talk to on LinkedIn:

  • Give them a name
  • What is their job?
  • What are their pain points?
  • What keeps them up at night?
  • Want can you offer them that will have a positive impact on their life?
  • Who is their hero? Or who inspires them?

Consider this ONE person when you are posting on LinkedIn – speak directly to them!

You have the opportunity to delve much deeper into your ideal customer as you start engaging with them more on LinkedIn.  You will start to get a feel for who they are and how you can support them in their life, business, or work journey.
