I consider myself a good person and yet being let down feels like the norm. I am an only child, an orphan, no kids, few friends around me, and very few family members. All my energy thus goes into being there for others, supporting others’ businesses and projects, going out of my way to help people, accommodate people and make others feel valued and special.
I laugh lots, I am really very positive, I love being around people, I include people, I introduce people to each other, I try hard to bring people together and I drop things in my life for others. I work around people putting their needs first. My only reason for getting out of bed in the mornings it for others.
For Others
My studies are so I can gain enough knowledge to help others. My business and my blogging is to help people. The events I organise are to bring others together and for them to network and make money. I even crochet and knit for charity. Nothing for me. All day, every day I give of my soul. I try so very hard to make others happy.
Being Let Down
Why then do I constantly feel let down and disappointed by people? And why do I feel so incredibly lonely and why am I not included in other people’s worlds? Why am I so often ignored?
Are my standards too high when I expect people to at least every now and again make an effort to support me, respond to me or at least just make me feel like I am valued? That I am actually on this planet?
I understand people are busy. And I understand life is frantic. I understand I am not the priority of others. But when I give everything I have, everything I am, and I get zero, nada, ziltch in return, I really don’t know what to say.
It would be great if others could step ourside of their own world, and really see others – just a little! Maybe even consider giving back when they receive.
