Dawn Denton is a trained Physical Education teacher who arrived from Johannesburg, South Africa, in the UK in January 1995. After a supply teaching stint, she trained with Contiki Holidays and led tours around Europe before managing the customer service centre in London. Dawn trained as a London City guide and returned to the classroom to teach Travel and Tourism, customer service, History, Geography, event planning and World Development at A-Level, taking her students to South Africa to teach sport in the Soweto township.

In 2012 Dawn worked with the South African Olympic team at the London Games, went ‘back on the road’ as a tour director in UK, Ireland, Russia and the Balkans. She moved to Frome in Somerset in 2012, completed her correspondence degree in International Relations and Diplomacy through the University of South Africa, and now runs her own brands, which include Celebrate Southern Africa (an annual market in the UK, a blog and a podcast).  She writes and publishes her own books, promotes other writers with her Ukuphuma Books brand and teaches small businesses how to create content.

Dawn offers blogging, podcasting and social media coaching in groups or 1-2-1, and can tailor training to meet the needs of your community or organisation.

The Podcasting Starter Kit is run as a virtual or an ‘in person’ workshop.

Dawn’s passion is radio and she currenlty has 3 shows on FromeFM:
